Come join the SOSL as they present an evening of traditional carols, modern arrangements and contemporary works to celebrate the festive season.
This year’s programme features fresh and unusual arrangements of holiday classics for both chorus and Orchestra. Some of these include a brilliant arrangement of We Three Kings with an accent on the oriental, a skilful montage of all the songs that refer the Bells of Christmas, and a medley of pure nostalgia featuring “I’ll be home for Christmas.”
The Old Joes Choir and The Menaka Singers will collaborate with the SOSL to present a number of traditional songs and carols in a very new light. They will perform beautifully evocative arrangements of Mary, Did you Know? O Come O Come Emmanuel and Do You Hear What I Hear, amongst others.
The orchestra will also perform a number of light classics with a distinctly Latin feel, such as Latin Gold and Anderson’s Blue Tango.
Two talented singers, Dmitri Guntatilake and Niran de Mel will enhance the program with their solos,while combining on that perennial favourite The Prayer.
